ISIC 2008
The United States Navy’s Naval Air Systems Command, PMA-264, is very pleased to organize and host the 13th International Sonobuoy Interoperability Conference and welcome you to Washington, DC, USA.
The objective of ISIC is to provide an opportunity for technical personnel from NATO nations and other invited governments and industries to hold discussions which focus on sonobuoy related topics including interoperability, safety, aircraft interface, processing, environmental issues and other areas of current relevance.
Theme
“Versatility – A Recall to Life for Sonobuoys” is the theme for ISIC 2008. The technological advances in sonobuoy construction and capabilities have enabled their increasingly diverse applications to meet the demands of both the military and civilian sectors. Given the variety of situations in which sonobuoys are employed, such as harbor defense from man-borne (swimmer) threats, chem-bio detection or classic ASW/USW, new developments in sonobuoy technologies are likely to trend toward systems interoperability, and nations collaborating to achieve maximum benefit from sonobuoy capabilities and their employment.
Location
The 13th ISIC will be held in conjunction with the 36th meeting of NATO Naval Group 4/Sub-Group 41, and will take place at the L’Enfant Plaza Hotel, in Washington, DC, USA, from 23-25 September 2008.
